La Piedad, 14 km highway

In the central area of Mexico, between La Piedad and Zamora, is a 14 km highway build with the use of PowerCem Technology, a new section of the Federal Highway 37. Among the stabilization of the highway [1], also the intersections [2], the embankments of the bridges [3], as well as a joint-free bridge/embankment constructions [4] are constructed.

On the new highway it is expected that 12.000 trucks a day will use this highway. The soil in this central area of Mexico consist of mainly clay.

The SCT (Federal Road Agency of Mexico) and the IMT (Federal Institute of Road materials) are also involved for the construction of this Federal highway.

They both tested the first, with PowerCem based technology constructed, highway lane in Mexico [1996] again and the performance was meeting the requirements above expectations regarding the durability.

Based on the positive experiences and the successful performance with other, build with the PowerCem Technology, projects over the last decade, the SCT awarded several highway projects were RoadCem will  be used.
