Queratero, evaluate Highway
In 1996, the middle and the left lane on highway 57, was constructed with a RoadCem stabilization. The exact location is between Queretaro and Mexico City (km 61.200). The highway is frequently monitored by the SCT (Mexican Federal Road Agency) and the IMT (Laboratory for Road materials). Based on a recent visual inspection (17 years later) in 2013 and covered with falling weight deflection tests the conclusion is: that RoadCem stabilization results in a durably pavement, and this is proofed in practice over a period of 17 years.
In 2001 the highway was firstly evaluated and based on the falling weight deflection tests, the test track with RoadCem showed significantly low deflections. This resulted to a positive evaluation in 2001. Recently a detailed visual study is done and no deformation or crack, was spotted. Based on this project result as well the results from other projects and laboratory results RoadCem is accepted by the Mexican Road Agency.
In 1996 a mixture was made with a dosage of 1,8 kg/m3 RoadCem and 180 kg/m3 of Cement mixed with the in-situ gravelly Sand. The thickness of the stabilization is 0,35 m with on top of the stabilization a layer of asphalt. The lanes with a RoadCem foundation are inspected in November 2013 and the lanes are in perfect state.
