South Africa - Kosterroad 80 km
Extension for national Road R 52 between Koster and Lichtenberg - totally 80 km
The Re-habilitation of the R-52 between Lichtenburg and Koster totaling 80 km of which phase one is 40 Km, starting at 20 Km going from Lichtenburg to Koster and 20 Km going from Koster to Lichtenburg. The remaining 40 Km will be phase 2 and scheduled for 2010.
The seal earmarked for this project is a 13/6.7 mm Double Seal Chip and Spray. Before the seal is applied the completed sections is first primed with E-prime. The 13 and 6.7 mm stones are pre-coated before use in the Chip and Spray application. On completion of the seal application the road sections is left for 3 days before opening it to traffic.
Currently a 10 Km X 5.2m section have been completed. This coming week another milling machine will be utilized to double production. Stabilization is scheduled to be completed before December 2009.
